About Dr. James Smith, Jr.

Dr. James Smith Jr., Ed.D. is a transformational leader whose journey bridges military discipline, higher education leadership, and ministry. Raised in Brooklyn, New York, he began his career as an enlisted Sailor in the United States Navy and rose to become a commissioned officer, serving aboard aircraft carriers and leading teams through demanding operational environments.

Following his military service, Dr. Smith moved into higher education, serving Norfolk State University in several leadership roles and later as a Presidential Leadership Fellow. Today he serves as an author, speaker, and mentor, helping others move from survival to purpose through faith-centered leadership.
